Finallly, we had the Friends luncheon. It was good. For the first time I didn't have to do much. The food was spectacular, and the friends had a very cooperative attitude. The environment in general was friendly and nice. Some of the outstanding notes were: the City forgot about the luncheon, only Mrs. Jones attended and that because Carolyn called her. Bernie confused Carolyn's husband last name creating a discomfort moment between her, her husband and the audience.
As a result of the absence of some of the guests, a whole turkey and a ham were left untouched. The decision was to raffle them. Christine, who was a great helper, had raffle tickets in her car. Everything went ok.
Later, Cynthia presented her program. Not many people attended, though it was a very nice program. One of the pioneers of Carver Ranches was present and delivered a short speech. Nice little lady. Others of the old neighbors talked about the neighborhood and presented some artefacts of that time.
Some rain and cold at the end of the afternoon.
